Pete Berquist is a litigator whose practice focuses on complex wage and hour class and collective actions.
Pete graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Government in 2013 and from Duke University School of Law, magna cum laude, in May 2022. At Duke, he served as Lead Research Editor of Law and Contemporary Problems. Before law school, he served five years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army, leading soldiers as a heavy weapons platoon leader and company executive officer and deploying to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School and Airborne School.
Pete began his legal career as a law clerk to Chief Judge Daniel P. Jordan III of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. He then joined one of the nation’s largest law firms, where he represented clients in high-value energy transactions and project development.
Most recently, Pete served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas, where he managed a full docket of contested tax, administrative, and unemployment insurance cases in state and federal court. That experience litigating against sophisticated opponents on complex statutory questions now serves clients who have been shorted the wages they earned.
