Seth’s Background

Seth Toups is an attorney in the firm’s Houston office, focusing primarily on labor and employment litigation. Seth’s unique background provides him with a creative skillset that he weaponizes for the benefit of his clients.

Seth is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University. At Texas A&M, Seth was prominently involved as a Student Senator, a member of the Ross Volunteer Company (the escort guard for the Governor of Texas), Vice President of the Aggie Wranglers, a member of the Corps of Cadets Company E-2, and an assistant handler of the school’s mascot, Reveille VIII, among his other involvements. As only a sophomore, Seth was awarded the Buck Weirus Spirit Award, a university award given to only 55 students per year out of 50,000+.

Before attending law school, Seth worked in Los Angeles as a comedic writer for live stage, social media, and television. Simultaneously, he also worked as a country-music video choreographer, receiving a nomination for Video of the Year at the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards. Despite this success in the entertainment world, Seth always had a passion for litigation, which drove him to join the nationally ranked South Texas College of Law Advocacy program.

During law school, Seth competed in nine Mock Trial and Moot Court competitions for South Texas, being named a finalist in three of those competitions. Seth’s stellar trial advocacy record earned him a selection into the national Order of Barristers. Additionally, Seth was a member of the South Texas Law Review, exploring the legal intricacies surrounding college athletics in the name, image, and likeness (NIL) era. Seth was awarded the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and the Willard and Anne Levin Foundation Scholarship while in school.

As a law student, Seth interned for the Honorable Justice Richard Hightower of the Texas First Court of Appeals, interned for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and clerked for two corporate litigation firms.

At Hodges & Foty, LLP, Seth has gained excellent experience representing his clients while achieving outstanding results. With his experience and track record, Seth has already begun to establish himself as a relentless advocate who will not stop until his client’s goals are met.

Currently, Seth is admitted to practice in the State of Texas, and is a Member of the American Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice.
